The AI Revolution Has Hit the Mainstream

Artificial intelligence ("AI") is once again taking the world by storm...

People from all walks of life are talking about ChatGPT. It's the hottest tech release in years – maybe even ever. Last month, the bot passed a Wharton Business School exam. And now, it has reached 100 million monthly active users.

It did so at an incredible pace, too. It took ChatGPT just two months to reach 100 million users. Meanwhile, it took Uber Technologies (UBER) 70 months and Instagram 30 months to do the same. Even global sensation TikTok took nine months to reach the milestone.

So on today's new episode of Making Money With Matt McCall, I dive into all things AI.

I start with a discussion of the sudden spike we're seeing in the technology's popularity. Then, I break down the meaning of "generative AI" and explain why I expect it will be a big trend in the future.

AI's popularity is far reaching. But it's not just everyday folks using it. Big tech companies are getting involved in the space now, too...

• Tech giant Microsoft (MSFT) has invested money into OpenAI – the company behind ChatGPT.
• Alphabet (GOOGL) announced yesterday that it will roll out its own chatbot called Bard in the coming weeks.
• And just last night, Chinese tech company Baidu (BIDU) unveiled its own version of generative AI.

Clearly, this megatrend is hard at work right now. And that means we need to be paying attention.

This is an industry I've been talking about for a while now, and I've recommended multiple stocks in the sector to my subscribers. So in today's podcast, I want to talk about a few of the companies that have been working on AI for many years. I also discuss some smaller stocks that you may not have heard of before.

AI is a fascinating and complex technology. I've said in the past that it's the kind of technology that's everywhere yet nowhere...
