THE S&A DIGEST: Happy Holidays
We weren’t planning on publishing another Digest until December 27, when we will publish our report card, but paid-up subscriber Bob Greene sent in this poem that brought a tear to our eyes… a tear of laughter. We thought you would enjoy it.
"Porter, I know you had asked your subscribers for feedback on their profits. I had a good year. With your recommendations, I bought seven stocks and didn’t have a single loss! My profits were somewhere about $35,000. I bought five of Dr. Sjuggerud’s recommendations with one loss and about $24,500 in gains. I’m still waiting for my first dividend on the Iceland Bonds. I did take a painful loss on FDG (-$15,000). I’m not sure what percent gain I had since sometimes I’ll do credit spreads or covered calls. All in all, it was a great year and well worth the price of the Alliance Membership.
"I will be celebrating this Christmas Eve with friends and a big ol’ Porter Stansberry brisket. And of course a couple jugs of wine to go with it. I hope you enjoy your time off. For now I’ll leave you with this:
"Twas the night before Christmas all through Porter’s nook,
He was researching a company he thought was cooking the books.
His wife was busy cooking, a dinner he knew would be fine,
She called for Porter to open the wine.
"Meanwhile, Tommy the mailman was out in the back,
Scoping a deer with a great big rack.
Tommy was happy he got his big deer,
But Porter knew better, all Tommy wanted was beer.
"The subscribers were happy, they all had big gains,
But some read the editorials with anguish and pain.
Porter knew he had done the right thing,
But some didn’t get it and gave him a ring.
"The newsletter comes packed with recipes and wine,
And all the profits were enough to sail the Rhine.
He worked hard to keep his subscribers in green,
Still, some had enough and wanted to scream.
"Now Dyson, now Ferris, now Clark and Summers
On Sjuggerud, on Badiali, on Rayburn, Porter he pled
Let’s find the next winner and keep out of the red.
"Let’s hope 2007 will be our best yet,
It will help keep our subscribers out of debt.
We’ll research and study as much as we can,
It won’t give us time to work on our tan.
"For me, I have something to say,
Let’s take some time off for a holiday.
Let’s use this moment to hope for the best,
The time off will give us a short rest.
"For now, I’ve decided to raise a beer,
In hopes I’ll get to meet you all again next year.
Thank you for all that you’ve done,
I wish you and your family the best and hope you keep having fun."
Happy Holidays,
Porter Stansberry
