Reviving Energy Infrastructure With the Stroke of a Pen
Editor's note: A major deregulation order is set to take effect on September 30. Joel Litman, chief investment officer at our corporate affiliate Altimetry, says it could reshape U.S. energy overnight... and trigger one of the biggest investment shifts of the decade. In this issue – adapted from the Altimetry Daily Authority e-letter – Joel explains how past policy shifts unleashed massive energy gains, and why this one could spark the next great AI rally.
At midnight on September 30, the U.S. energy market will be transformed...
That's when President Donald Trump will enact Executive Order 14270 – a sweeping deregulation initiative.
The executive order is titled "Zero-Based Regulatory Budgeting to Unleash American Energy." And it signals a massive shift in the energy and AI sectors.
Of course, deregulation itself is nothing new. Former Presidents Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush slashed agency regulations to boost the U.S. energy infrastructure. Trump has even done so already himself.
Their policies also sparked dozens of triple-digit stock gains in the oil, gas, and industrial sectors.
But this time, we have an AI boom to contend with... and this technology has an insatiable appetite for energy.
And this could be the spark that ignites the market's next great AI rally.
Government agencies may need to axe hundreds of regulations...
One target of Executive Order 14270 is the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission ("FERC").
We introduced this independent regulatory agency in Saturday's DailyWealth Weekend Edition. It's one of the single biggest gatekeepers in the AI power story.
FERC's regulations cover pipeline construction and electricity transactions. Its permitting process for energy projects can take at least a year.
But now under pressure, the agency is making that process more efficient and transparent. And this could boost energy and AI stocks.
As we noted earlier, this pattern has played out before...
Trump's Deregulation Could Spark a Natural Gas Boom
Reagan issued a similar order in 1981 to roll back limits on oil exploration. Within two years, 21 natural resource stocks posted triple-digit gains.
Bush enacted his National Energy Policy in 2001, which eased drilling restrictions. A dozen energy names surged more than 900% as a result.
And in 2017, Trump's first deregulation push catapulted oil pipelines, liquefied natural gas export terminals, and fossil-fuel infrastructure.
Fast-forward to 2025, and AI players are racing to secure energy capacity...
With U.S. power grids under pressure, AI needs massive amounts of reliable energy.
Yet multiple projects for natural gas turbines, nuclear reactors, and AI-adjacent grid expansions are in limbo.
Executive Order 14270 would force federal and state agencies to make consistent progress on these projects and justify every delay.
Companies building next-generation energy infrastructure are the potential beneficiaries...
These include small-cap natural gas providers, advanced pipeline developers, and grid-modernization firms.
Trump's deregulation policy could help America win the AI race...
It could turn a handful of natural resource stocks into multibaggers... like we saw during previous administrations.
Right now, AI tech, surging power demand, and Executive Order 14270 are ushering in the biggest opportunity in decades.
We've pinpointed a handful of small-cap stocks that are the most likely to benefit from this deregulation shift.
It's a rare opportunity to triple your money (or more) as Trump enacts historic new tech policies... and fuels the AI boom.
Learn how to position your portfolio before the September 30 deadline here.
The latest deregulation wave will send ripples across the energy industry. Make sure you're ready.
Regards,
Joel Litman
Editor's note: A systemic failure is quietly spreading through America's AI infrastructure – threatening 65 million jobs and half of the U.S. stock market. It's called the "AI Bottleneck," and most investors have no idea it's happening. But with new federal mandates about to take effect, this crisis could soon hit a tipping point. Here's what it means for your money – and how to prepare.

Microsoft and Meta Platforms recently locked in deals for nuclear power – and paid twice the going rate. Now, Big Tech overpaying for clean, stable, and available energy is a trend. As a result, utility giants are positioned to profit as they keep the AI boom alive.
